Basement Bathroom - The custom J Hippler Sink has arrived!!

Well, look what the postman delivered... My new sink made by our wonderful friend Jodi of My Miniature Madness. Isn't it wonderful! It fits perfectly in its new home. :D

Make sure you take a trip through her sink making odyssey... and check out all of her delightful creations

It was so much fun to open up all the little packages inside the shipping box... It was truly like Christmas morning.

**Warning** Photo spam ahead. :D

The door has plenty of swing room.

The Tenant is going to be so happy with this oversized mirror. All the better to do his hair in.  :D

All the little accessories are so lovely and are just the right touch of class for my sophisticated, city dwelling, man about town tenant. He does live in San Francisco after all, he has high expectations of his studio apartment. Basement or not.

The spectacular hand made flower the soap dispenser (Jodi's own 3D printed design) and cleverly crafted candle look great on the counter. Then there is a box of tissues with a jaunty modern design in coordinating black and white and some crisp white towels rolled up for storage on the upper shelf. I added a glass for the tenant to store his toothbrush in. The twine basket on the lower shelf is lined in a coordinating fabric and is to be used for hiding extra toilet rolls and other unsightly items. I need to make some to put in there. ;) When I do, I'll be sure to share a peek inside at the contents. Jodi even included the very modern rectangular bin you see here between the shower stall and sink unit. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. :D

Jodi solved my back splash dilemma by creating a fabulous over sized mirror that props up right on the counter. It's a great idea and keeps the look clean and streamlined.

The only problem is, Jodi's sink and accessories look so good. I now need to accessorise the rest of the room a bit more.. it's looking sadly neglected in comparison. I think I need an art work above the toilet and some modern coordinating towels on the towel rack opposite. Maybe a hook on the door and a rug on the floor in front of the sink. I also need to fill up the caddy in the shower and properly adhere the shower head to the wall. I'm sure it will all come together soon as the sink will provide lots of inspiration. :D

I can't thank Jodi enough for this wonderful gift. I'm so proud to have it in my San Franciscan. :D Thank you my dear friend!!

  1. Oh that looks wonderful! The perfect sink for the space. I love the contrast of the darker vanity with the light stone of the shower!

    1. It does doesn't it? I agree, If we'd gone for a lighter colour the room would have ended up too white on white on white.. It needed something to pop it and this is perfect. :)

    1. It looks wonderful in its new home doesn't it! An absolute perfect fit. And I didn't need to take a chance at all, I knew your skills were more than up to the challenge. Now the challenge is mine to make sure the rest of the room meets the high standard you have set! Not to mention I need to make sure my paintings are a worthy swap. :D

I have no doubt you will take that bathroom to the next level with your keen eye and decorating skills!
I have truly LOVED each one of your paintings, and any one of them would be an honor to display in my houses! Becoming friends, sharing our love of minis and encouraging each other is my most valued treasure - the painting is just the cherry on top! :O)

  8. It fits and suits the space perfectly! It adds a focal point to the room and breaks up the white without being in your face. Yes, some additional accessories around the room, but all in good time Sam! Rome wasn’t built in a day.

    1. That's exactly what I was looking for Shannon, something to break up the white. So glad you think that has been a success. Now to get into some accessories making.

  10. Hello Sam,
The bathroom is incredible. There is no way to see that it is miniature and not a real life. Jodi's sink is an impressive work of art and fits perfectly in your amazing project. This is what happens when insanely talented people work together...and it is fantastic.
    Big hug

    1. Hi Giac! So lovely of you to say this! We all strive for realism so to have you think it looks real is a great compliment. Jodi's sink has to take most of the credit for that though, it is really quite delicate and refined which I think goes a long way to realism in miniature.. none of that clunky thickness that give many scenes away. She really got the scale so right on this piece, it's even more wonderful in real life. :)

  12. Jodi's bathroom sink unit is Picture Perfect in your San Franciscan basement bathroom Sam! :D
It not only looks as if it has ALWAYS been in this elegant bathroom but the way you have photographed it reminds me of a pictorial spread in Architectural Digest. Your young Man About Town is going to Absolutely LOVE IT when he sees it!
Hats off to You and to Jodi!!! :D

    1. Thanks Elizabeth! Jodie's sink is so perfect for the space, that's why it looks so great in the pictures.. nothing at all to do with my questionable photography skills lol. The tenant will have nothing to complain about when he moves in. :D

  13. It is great to finally see Jodi´s creation in your bathroom. I had so much fun following her journey as all those vanities got transformed and became beautiful pieces, including yours which is perfect, lucky girl! I love the lines and all the accessories and it matches perfectly your bathroom. Yes, maybe you need to accessorise it a bit more but the style is just right. What a happy ending :)

    1. Isn't it Alexandra? I couldn't wait to get it in the space. It arrived on a workday so I had to sweat it out until a day off before I could truly play.. those few days felt like forever! :) Now, I just need to make some lovely accessories to spruce up the rest of the room.

  14. The bathroom is looking absolutely stunning! Now that you have the sink, you can add finishing touches to the bathroom and call it done. If the tenant ever decides to move out, can I have first dibs on renting?

  15. Hello, Sam - The new sink from Jodi fits so perfectly in the San Franciscan's bathroom; everything about it looks right at home there. Your own plans for further accessorizing the bathroom sound ideal. It'll be such a treat to see the finished room.
